Roger Binny, a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, is expected to succeed Sourav Ganguly as BCCI president.

Sourav Ganguly, the former India all-rounder, is not anticipated to have a place on the board any longer. Roger Binny, a former cricketer, is slated to take over as BCCI president. On October 18, when the BCCI annual general meeting is held in Mumbai, Binny will take over.

The most powerful seat on the board will continue to be held by Jay Shah, the son of India's home minister Amit Shah. Rajiv Shukla will continue to serve as vice-president of the board.

There will be two new faces in the new administration in addition to Binny: Ashish Shelar, who presided over the Mumbai Cricket Association from 2017 to 2019, will serve as the treasurer, and Devajit Saikia, who is currently the secretary of the Assam Cricket Association, will serve as the joint secretary.

Another significant choice is Arun Dhumal, who will replace Brijesh Patel as the IPL chairman. Patel, a former India batter, has held the position since 2019 but must go down when he turns 70 [on November 24]. According to the BCCI's constitution, it is the highest age that an officeholder or administrator may be.

Dhumal is the brother of former board president Anurag, who joined the BCCI during the Ganguly administration.
